Jack Saunders Talk on wild flowers was great. If you would like to add some of these lovely flowers to you garden I know of two places to look. The first is McClure and Zimmer, catalogue and online Flowerbulb Brokers. I have bought many of the plants he mentioned from this site and they are reputable. I reviewed
their catalogue and they have the following that were mentioned in Jack's talk:

  • Asarumarifolium
  • Asarum canadense
  • Cornus Canadensis
  • Cypripedium - lady slippers (they have a few varieties and they are very expensive)
  • Dodecatheon - shooting stars
  • Gentiana andrewsii
  • Hepatica acutiloba
  • Hydrasis Canadensis
  • Iris versicolor - blue flag iris
  • Mertensia - Virginia bluebells
  • Polygonatum- Solomon's Seal
  • Smilacina Racemosa- False Solomon's Seal
  • Sanguinaria Canadensis - Bloodroot
  • Trillium (many varieties)
  • Uvularia - merrybells.
Should you buy some of these do not lose heart if they fail to come up the first year, which was my experience, everything came up the next year.

The other place to look is at the sale at the Native Plant Center at Westchester Community college. I have not tried this but I have heard that it also sells many of these flowers. Their website is nativeplantcenter.org. Happy Hunting
